Symbolism
Arms
The stag, the pheons and the colours are found in other Scottish Davidson arms. The white-tailed deer, native to the farmland of southern Ontario, indicates where Father Davidson’s family has lived for generations. The hand in benediction is a reference to his vocation as a priest.
Motto
This Latin phrase, meaning “Wisdom with sincerity”, is a response to the Davidson Clan Chief’s motto, Sapienter si sincere, meaning “Wisely if sincerely”.
