Badge
The blue background represents the sky, the medium of air operations. Pegasus, the Greek mythical winged horse, was the mount of Bellerophon and enabled him to slay the monster, Chimaera. Pegasus symbolizes strength, warrior spirit, bravery and swift transport. Pegasus has additional significance since the Pegasus Bridge in Normandy was the site of the first Allied air deployment in World War II. It is also a symbol of loyalty and devotion, such as the faith it has in its master. The globe signifies the world. The badge and motto reflect the function of the Contingency Capability Centre to react quickly to support deployed air operations.
