The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The gold ingot covered by the cap of Mercury, the Roman god of trade and commerce, possibly alludes to the protection the company offered through reinsurance.
Motto
This Latin phrase meaning “Safety through many” possibly alludes to the purpose of the firm as a reinsurance company.
