Symbolism
Badge
The mountain ash (Sorbus aucuparia) is the Malcolm clan badge, and the fiddlehead is the provincial plant of New Brunswick, the province in which Mr. Malcolm's grandfather settled after leaving Scotland. The two canine breeds are those particularly admired by Mr. Malcolm and his family, and they reflect the use of hunting dogs by several generations of his family.
