The maple leaf alludes to Lady Eaton’s Canadian birthplace, while the shamrock represents her parents’ Irish origins. The horseshoes symbolize Dame Eaton’s love of horses, while the red cross likely alludes to her longstanding involvement with the Canadian Red Cross. The lyre references the McCrea family’s shared interest in music.
