Symbolism

Arms

For Mr. Gaudreault, red symbolizes strength and tenacity. The indented line alludes to the non-traditional path he has taken throughout his life. The compass roses represent his passion for travel and his work-related visits to the gold mines of Quebec, Ontario and Nunavut. They also evoke the three branches of the Gaudreault family that settled in North America.

Crest

The wolf is associated with the northern wilderness, where Mr. Gaudreault travelled extensively during his career in the mining sector. The sword, a symbol of courage, represents Mr. Gaudreault’s service in the Canadian cadet organization.

Motto

This Latin phrase means “He who never gives up.” It evokes one of Mr. Gaudreault’s core values, perseverance.
