The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The quills, book and balance represent the role of the accountant in keeping accounts balanced, while the trillium flowers symbolize Ontario.
Crest
The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The fasces was a symbol of civil authority in classical Rome and therefore alludes to the Institute’s contribution to law and governance. The closed padlock alludes to financial security.
Motto
This Latin expression means “Knowledge and integrity.” It speaks to the values of the Institute.
