This Royal Cypher is His Majesty’s personal emblem. It consists of the initials of the monarch’s name, Charles, and title, Rex, Latin for “King,” together with his regnal number in Roman numerals. The Royal Crown, shown in the Canadian version approved by The King before his coronation, is a personal emblem of the Sovereign and a symbol of the Canadian monarchy.
