Badge
The cross symbolizes Mr. MacKinnon’s vocation as a minister in the United Church of Canada. The crown is taken from the arms of his alma mater, Queen’s University at Kingston. The points of the crown resemble fleurs-de-lis, a heraldic version of a lily. The lily is a symbol of Saint Joseph, Joseph being Mr. MacKinnon’s middle name.
