Symbolism

Badge

The reticle symbolizes the ability to direct explosive ordnance accurately from aircraft. In addition to representing the Royal Canadian Air Force, the wings allude to a falcon, the bird with the fastest flight speed. Their shape in flight evokes a broad arrowhead, a reference to weaponry. The Royal Crown represents service to the Sovereign and Canada.
