Symbolism
Arms
The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The yellow horseshoe and cross on a blue background are the Jastrzębiec clan’s coat of arms used since the Middle Ages by many Polish families, including the Święcicki family of whom Father Swan is a descendant. The border makes this design unique to the descendants of his ancestor Julian Constantine Andrew Święcicki.
Motto
This Latin phrase means “We shall never yield.”
