Symbolism
Arms
The red and white colours, the horse and the axes are from the ancient arms of the Polish Pociecha family, of which the Grandwilewskis are a branch. The white shields on blue allude to the arms of the Grandville family, from which the Grandwilewskis also descend. The maple leaves of the coronet symbolize that this family is now Canadian.
Crest
The horse and axe are taken from the crest of the ancestral arms of the Pociecha family.
Motto
This phrase embodies the importance Mr. Grandwilewski places on family heritage.
