Badge
The fleur-de-lis, present on the flag and provincial arms, was originally an emblem of France. It is used to identify Government of Quebec agencies. The oak tree is a symbol of power and strength, robustness and resistance.
Motto
Meaning “Service integrity justice,” the Motto was adopted by the Sûreté du Québec in 1983. SERVICE characterizes the desire to serve the public and continuously meet the expectations of Quebeckers. INTÉGRITÉ suggests that police officers must be exemplary in the performance of their duties. JUSTICE refers to the Sûreté’s legislative mandate.
