Symbolism

Arms

The red chevron and black crosses appear in arms of other members of the Scottish Kennedy Clan. The bull’s head represents the origin of the family from the Isle of Tyree, in the Inner Hebrides, Scotland. The Bible represents the vocation and avocation of several generations of Kennedys being teachers or ministers of religion.

Crest

The dolphin is a differenced version of the crest of the Marquess of Ailsa, Chief of the Kennedys.

Motto

This phrase responds to the clan Chief’s motto “Avise la fin,” meaning “Consider the end,” in the sense of be thoughtful of consequences before speaking.
