A demi-tiger affronty Gules striped Or holding in its dexter paw a balance Vert and in its sinister paw a trillium flower slipped and leaved proper;

Symbolism

Arms

The green central stripe and balance symbolize Mr. Yamanaka’s position as a Justice of the Peace in Ontario, a green sash being worn over his robe of office. The menorah represents his wife, and the three maple leaves his three daughters. The three swirling drops are the emblem of Okinawa and allude to his heritage. The red and white colours are the colours of the martial arts belt that Mr. Yamanaka possesses.

Crest

The crimson tiger alludes to the elite group of athletes associated since the 1970’s with the Yamanaka Budo Life Centre, Mr. Yamanaka’s school. The balance refers to his position as a Justice of the Peace in Ontario.

Motto

These words have been used as a motto since 1970 by Mr. Yamanaka.
