Symbolism
Arms
The arms relate to those used by Sir John Wynne of Gwyder in Wales who was created a baronet in 1611 and from whom Mr. Wynne descends. They are altered by showing the three eagles in different locations in the shield. The chevron-line represents the mountains of British Columbia, Mr. Wynne’s province of residence. The two sections also allude to the idea that the family began in one country and now resides in another.
Crest
The dragon is for Wales. The red rose is for Lancashire, the birthplace of Mr. Wynne’s wife. The anchor alludes to his career in The Royal Navy.
