Arms
The gold discs allude to Mr. Vandewater’s profession in the investment industry. The swords and coronet represent his long association with the Canadian military, in which he is currently an honorary colonel.
Crest
The lion represents the Scottish ancestry on Mr. Vandewater’s mother’s side. The coronet is similar to the one in the arms of the province of North Holland and here represents the original Vandewater home. It is coloured in the tinctures of the province’s flag.
Motto
This means “Industry and perseverance.”
