Symbolism

Arms

The blue and white colours refer to Mr. Bouzanis’s Greek heritage. The fleeces allude to the name Jason, since the mythical hero of that name had sought out the Golden Fleece. They thus represent the idea of achieving a goal through determined effort. The masonry refers to Mr. Bouzanis’s grandfather, who came to Canada and established a construction business in Ottawa. The heart represents love of life and family.

Crest

The dragon is another reference to the classical Jason myth, as the hero defeated a dragon to claim the Golden Fleece. The scroll represents education and its importance to Mr. Bouzanis.

Motto

This phrase was chosen by Mr. Bouzanis to express the importance of aspiring high and of having faith in oneself.
