Symbolism

Arms

The key and pastoral staff are symbols of episcopal authority. The Indigenous person paddling the canoe represents the northern part of the original diocese, characterized by rivers and forests. The wheat sheaf represents the southern part of Saskatchewan, characterized by agriculture. The wavy band represents the Saskatchewan River, from which the diocese takes its name.
