Symbolism

Arms

The white X-shape on blue is the coat of arms attributed to St. Andrew. The maple leaf and the thistle refer to the school’s Canadian identity and Scottish heritage respectively. The book refers to the school’s educational mandate.

Motto

Meaning “Quit ye like men, be strong,” this Greek phrase is taken from 1 Corinthians 16:13. The first word of the motto is the origin of the name Andrew, which means “manly.”
