Symbolism
Badge
Blue and deep red (maroon) are the company’s corporate colours. The design takes its inspiration from police badges to indicate the close relationship the company has with law enforcement and public safety organizations. The sun, found in the arms of British Columbia, represents knowledge and hope, and the water evokes the Pacific Ocean and the location of the company’s head office near its coast in Vancouver. The books are a symbol of learning, and the sword represents the power of knowledge and education as well as the company’s role in defending the interests of its clients. The coronet of maple leaves and dogwood flowers indicate Canada and British Columbia. The laurel branches symbolize a high level of achievement and success.
Motto
LEADERSHIP IN ALL WE DO has been the company’s motto for many years.
