Or a stag’s head erased Gules within a tressure wavy Azure;

Issuant from a mural crown proper charged with roses Gules, a demi-sun in splendour Or;

Supporters

Two stags Gules each attired, charged on the shoulder with a canola flower Or seeded of a goutte de poix and standing on a grassy mount Vert;

Symbolism

Arms

The red elk, a type of deer, is a reference to the county’s name. The blue wavy stripe refers to the Red Deer River.

Crest

The sun is one of the emblems currently used by the county. The roses refer to the wild rose, the floral emblem of Alberta. The mural crown is a traditional symbol of municipal authority.

Supporters

The stags repeat the symbolism of the name, the canola flowers represent local agriculture, and the drops refer to the oil and gas industries. The base is composed of prairie grass.
