Symbolism

Badge

The grenade enflamed is a traditional symbol for fusiliers. The harp and green represent Ireland; the maple leaf, Canada. The coronet refers to the Princess (later Queen) Victoria who presented colours to the predecessor regiment in Britain in 1833.
