The design for Ms. Lindsay is based on the general pattern of Scottish Lindsay arms, a red shield with a blue and white chequy fess. The wavy base recognizes that the family crossed the waters to reside in Canada. The white star alludes to the descent through a particular line of Lindsays, and the maple leaves indicate the five generations of the family in Canada.
Crest
The crest alludes to the swan found in other Lindsay crests, but here maple leaves as Canadian elements are included for the new land.
