Symbolism
Arms
The design of the shield is based on the emblem in long use by the Association, with the addition of the maple leaf coronet for Canada.
Crest
The border collie works as a sheepdog to herd and protect its flock against carnivores. It is known for being vigilant, loyal and ready to defend itself and others, evoking the values of the Association.
Supporters
The supporters recall the defence of Fort Verchères by Madeleine de Verchères and her companions in 1692. Because of her leadership for this great accomplishment, Madeleine de Verchères is considered a heroine of New France.
