Red represents the idea of emergency and the role of emergency services. The gauntlet refers to the resolve of authority and its white colour represents legitimate authority. The yellow lightning bolt indicates the speed required by members of this Service. The black baton symbolizes force operating under authority, used with care by the members of the Service. The fleurs-de-lis represent Quebec.
