Symbolism

Arms

The Greek heritage of Mr. Conistis is represented by the colours of blue and white, as well as the olive leaves, while his Canadian heritage is represented by the red and white, as well as the maple leaves. The phoenix symbolizes perseverance while the balance evokes his birth-sign of Libra.

Crest

The schooner represents the Bluenose and the fact that Mr. Conistis was born in Nova Scotia. The streamer with its blue and white colours alludes to his Greek heritage.

Motto

This Latin phrase means “Brave in difficulties”.
