Symbolism

Arms

The paschal lamb is a symbol of St. John the Baptist and appears in a stained glass window in the church. The red cross refers to the one suspended above the chancel of the church. The arching line alludes to the shape of the chancel roof.

Motto

This phrase is painted above the chancel, and is taken from E. H. Plumtre’s processional hymn (written in 1865), “Rejoice, Ye Pure in Heart”.

Badge

This combines elements from the shield and follows the shape of the badge of the Anglican Church of Canada.
