Symbolism

Arms

The main symbols represent Mr. Saputo, his wife and their two sons. The lions refer to Amelia Saputo’s sign of the Zodiac, Leo, and the two of them allude to Mr. Saputo’s sign, Gemini. The fish represents Emanuele, whose sign is Pisces, and the waves represent Giordano by alluding to Aquarius. The red and white colours allude to the family’s Canadian identity.

Crest

The milk and cheese refer to the family’s dairy business, founded by Mr. Saputo’s father and now the largest dairy processor in Canada. The triskelion alludes to the three-legged symbol of Sicily, the family’s ancestral home.

Motto

Meaning four independent bodies working together towards the same goal, this word refers to the four members of the family of Mr. Saputo.
