Symbolism

Badge

The badge shows a Viking long ship under sail, the sail itself of sky blue and featuring an eagle in flight. The long ship is a reference to the badge of former CFB Gimli, which was within a settlement founded by Icelandic Canadians and thus honours their heritage. The Gliding School badge is made distinctive through the colouring of the sail, the orientation of the ship and the use of the eagle for flight.

Motto

Meaning "The skies being silent, they are launched".
