Symbolism
Badge
The coloured shield shows the arms of the Northwest Territories, and the territorial Crest and wreath appear above. The mountain avens is the territorial flower. The maple leaves represent the regions of the Northwest Territories.
Flag
The blue flag is similar to the flag used by the Lieutenant-Governors of most of the provinces. As a distinguishing feature, it shows the Badge of Office.
