Badge
The design is based on the badge of H.MC.S. Cape Breton. The gear wheel, which has been changed from white to gold, refers to the machinery of the engineering branch. The ermine spots are from the arms of Brittany, from which Cape Breton takes its name, and the thistles symbolize the Scottish heritage of Cape Breton.
