Symbolism
Arms
The sacred monogram of Christ is an indication of the parish’s name. The cross and disc shape is similar to that of the badge of the Anglican Church of Canada. The background of wavy stripes is indicative of the nearby Niagara Falls. The top section alludes not only to the shape of Horseshoe Falls, but also to the nearby Rainbow Bridge spanning the Niagara River. The idea of a bridge also refers to the Church’s mission in the world. The coronet of roses refers to one of the main crops of the Niagara region, and to the visit the then Princess Elizabeth made to the church in 1951 (as Princess Elizabeth, her coat of arms included a rose).
Motto
This is taken from Revelation 1:15 and is a reference to the voice of Christ. It can also allude to the sound of the nearby Niagara Falls, and carries with it the idea, from Revelation 19:6 of many coming together as one.
