Arms

Per fess wavy Azure and Or a demi-sun in splendour and a demi-wheel conjoined and counterchanged, all surmounted by two Rajput swords in saltire Argent;

Crest

Issuant from a coronet of maple leaves and prairie crocus flowers Gules, an eagle displayed Or;

Motto

SATAYAM • SHIVAM • SUNDARAM;


Symbolism

Arms

The two swords allude to Dr. Dhalla’s Indian heritage from the Rajput region. The rising sun is a symbol of hope and promise, lifted up by the wheel representing the support from family, friends and other people for progress in life. The wavy edging presents a view of water and represents a progressive struggle for achievement and fulfilment.

Crest

The coronet represents Canada and Manitoba. The eagle alludes to characteristics of clarity of vision and strength of purpose.

Motto

These three words mean “Truth, Purity, Beauty.”
