Symbolism
Arms
The shield's green background recalls the original lands and the seigneury "Beau pré", where the American ancestors of the Racine family, Étienne Racine and Marguerite Martin, lived. The nine tree roots represent their children, and are also an allusion to the Association's surname, Racine. The thirteen maple leaves symbolize the thirteen generations of their many descendants since their marriage in 1638. The gold lion on a red background has for a millennium been a part of the coat of arms of Normandy, and here it denotes the origins of Étienne Racine.
Motto
Meaning “Beau pré our roots”, it recalls the origins of the family at Beaupré, in the Quebec area, and its surname Racine (root in English).
