The engrailed saltire cross is a feature of Anderson coats of arms of Scottish origin. The Loyalist military coronet is a reference to Mr. Anderson’s United Empire Loyalist ancestors who served the Crown. The quill pens allude to Mr. Anderson’s profession as an accountant and auditor. They also represent his work as an author and an editor of a paper.
Crest
The lion and sword impaled with three chess rooks are taken from the crest of Michael Van Koughnet, the first of Mr. Anderson’s United Empire Loyalist ancestors who settled in Canada in the early 1780s. The Loyalist civil coronet honours Mr. Anderson’s non-military Loyalist ancestors.
