Per fess wavy Azure and Argent in chief two naval crowns Or sails Argent and in base a lion passant guardant Gules armed and langued Azure all within an orle of ten mullets counterchanged;

Symbolism
Arms
The shield’s central wavy blue and white division represents Mr. Gardner’s lifelong personal and professional military association with the sea. The lion is taken from the arms of Great Britain and alludes to the country of his birth. The naval crowns commemorate Mr. Gardner’s extended naval service and his achievement of the rank of Commander. The ten stars commemorate his five children, his wife’s four children, and one star represents their mutual grandchildren.
Crest
The antique crown is taken from the arms of British Columbia. The double-headed eagle symbolizes the conjoining of the two families and alludes to their charitable activities. The Tudor rose also signifies Mr. Gardner’s British heritage.
Motto
This Latin phrase means "Seek ye the truth."
