On a pomme fretty-fusily Or, a salmon naiant proper, all within a rope and environed by a wreath of maple leaves Or issuant from a scroll Vert edged and inscribed CANADA in letters Or and ensigned by the Royal Crown proper;

A pennant couped the hoist Gules charged with a maple leaf Argent, the fly Argent charged with the Badge;


Symbolism

Badge

Fisheries Management is responsible for managing the Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic and non-tidal fisheries of Canada, which are represented by the salmon displayed on a fish net over a green background. The eight maple leaves represent the department’s eight management regions when the Hon. Roméo LeBlanc was Minister of Fisheries and Oceans. The Royal Crown underlines the authority under which this work is done.
