Symbolism

Badge

The alternating blue and white wavy stripes represent the four Atlantic provinces and their connection to the ocean. The sextant has long symbolized the discovery of new horizons, and is a symbol of direction, watchfulness and guidance. It is also closely associated with progress, as it expands the boundaries of knowledge and understanding. These attributes are consistent with the aims of developing young Canadians for tomorrow.
