On an eagle’s wing Gules between five escutcheons three in chief and two in base, an open book Argent edged and bound Or charged on the dexter page with a rose and on the sinister page with a fleur-de-lis Gules;

Symbolism

Crest

The book with a Turiec rose and fleur-de-lis represent Professor Stolarik’s position as a Professor holding the Chair in Slovak History and Culture at the University of Ottawa. The escutcheons are inspired by the armorial bearings of the University of Ottawa, and the eagle’s wing by the crest of Zdenko Alexy, which has two such wings.

Motto

Meaning “Time reveals the truth”.
