Badge

The hands commemorate the meeting between Chief Donnacona and Jacques Cartier at Stadacona (now Quebec City). The three maple leaves are from the arms of Canada and indicate that the name “Canada” came from the Iroquoian word “Kenneta”, meaning “habitation”.
