Green and gold are the principal colours of the arms of the province of Ontario. The trillium is the floral emblem of this province. These colours and flower symbolize that this is the Ontario jurisdiction of the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem. The Order is represented by the canton containing the Arms of the Priory of Canada.
