Symbolism

Arms

Blue and yellow are colours that Mr. Masse especially likes and with which he identifies. The chevron represents a triangle, his favourite geometric shape, as it evokes the idea of completion for him. The mallets (masses in French) refer to his family name and three fleur-de-lis to his french heritage.

Crest

The beaver represents Mr. Masse’s Canadian nationality and his region, Joliette, in Quebec, which is home to a large number of beavers. The accordion refers to his passion for music and his proficiency on that instrument.

Motto

Meaning “Serving the community”, this motto honours Mr. Masse’s many years as a volunteer with the St. John Ambulance Brigade.
