Symbolism

Arms

The beavers (castors in French) make a reference to the town’s name and have long been used as a symbol of the town. The wavy division line refers to Castor Creek.

Crest

The mural coronet refers to Castor’s municipal status, and the heads of barley allude to local agriculture. The beaver repeats the symbolism of the Arms.

Supporters

The coyotes are local animals. The blue flames symbolize the natural gas industry. The beaver pond makes a further reference to the beavers in the arms and crest, emphasizing their ingenuity and engineering skills in creating new and diverse habitats.
