Symbolism

Arms

The owl represents keen vision, caution and watchfulness, essential skills for work as a diplomat, Mr. Webb’s profession. The olive branch is found on the arms of Jerusalem and signifies his family’s Jewish roots. The partition line composed of maple leaves evokes the family’s new beginning in Canada.

Crest

The pigeon was used in diplomatic correspondence and communications for centuries. The scroll is a symbol of diplomacy and academia, in this case Mr. Webb’s studies in political science.
