The long-tailed jaeger is an Arctic bird with exceptionally keen eyesight and is extremely aggressive when protecting its territory, thus symbolizing the squadron’s mandate of protecting Canadian territory against intrusion. The white field and the aurora borealis evoke the north, where most of the aerospace control and warning squadrons are located.
Motto
This Latin phrase means “Tenacious of purpose”.
