Arms
The blue, white and gold are colours from Dr. Dilmaghani’s alma maters of the University of British Columbia and the Poznań University of Medical Sciences in Poland. The rug pattern evokes the Persian rug business of the Dilmaghani family. The hazelnuts symbolize knowledge and healing, referring to Dr. Dilmaghani’s interest in education and to his profession as a doctor.
Crest
The lion is inspired by the lion in the crest of the armorial bearings of Frimley, England, Dr. Dilmaghani’s birthplace. The halberd alludes to the service of members of his family in the military.
Motto
These Latin words mean “Country, honour, health”.
Flag
The symbolism of this emblem is found in other element(s) of this record.
Badge
The eagle is a bird found in the Iranian cities of Tabriz and Lighvan, the birthplaces of Dr. Dilmaghani’s father and mother respectively. As well, the eagle is the symbol of Poland where he studied medicine. The halberd alludes to the service of members of his family in the military.
