Symbolism

Arms

Green represents Mr. Curley’s Irish heritage, and his commitment to furthering environmental and conservation causes. Blue stands for his career as a reservist with the Royal Canadian Navy as well as his work with Joint Task Force Pacific and Emergency Management British Columbia, reinforced by the blue columbine flower. The green field and gold chevron with three flowers are features of arms used by people named Curley.

Crest

The dragon is frequently used as a crest for armigers named Curley. The fleur-de-lis pays homage to Mr. Curley’s professional and personal relationships with Quebec. The crosses patté refer to the insignia of the Order of Military Merit, of which Mr. Curley is a member, while the oak leaves allude to his naval service, as oak was traditionally associated with the Royal Navy.

This Latin phrase means “Honour and Integrity”.
