Symbolism

Arms

The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The naval crown possibly refers to Rear-Admiral Pullen’s career as an officer in the Royal Canadian Navy, and the maple leaf to Canada. The blue field and the white bend bearing three shells are features of other Pullen arms.

Crest

The pelican is found in other Pullen crests.

Motto

This Latin phrase means “Not to have to turn pale at any charge of guilt.”
