The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The green pears on yellow are found in other Pirie Arms and refer to the family name. The stag’s head, a feature of Mackenzie arms, possibly alludes to his great-great- grandmother, Margery Mackenzie of Dalmore. The maple leaf represents Canada.

The Canadian Heraldic Authority does not have confirmed symbolism for this emblem. The following comments are hypotheses only. The mountain in flames is found in Mackenzie crests, and possibly alludes to Mr. Pirie’s great-great-grandmother, Margery Mackenzie of Dalmore.

I FACE ALL WEATHERS is also the motto of Mackenzie families.

Motto

The Scots Gaelic phrase TULACH ARD, meaning “High hillock,” is the motto of the Mackenzie Clan.
